9 members and a guest hit the Elk Creek Trail on a glorious day and enjoyed the fall color, fresh air, good company and exercise. Part of the group completed 4 miles and the rest of the group hiked 7.5 miles. The longer group gathered on an old cabin foundation to sit and eat lunch before turning back to the trailhead. Lots of solitude and a clear, blue sky added to the experience. The land around the trail is “open range”, so we had some friendly cows resting in a field near our lunch stop. Thanks to Lori Miles for the great photos and to Kate Coggin for organizing and leading the hike.
