50 members and guests gathered at the Rogue Valley Country Club on April 17 for our bi-monthly luncheon. The landscaping around the Country Club is always beautiful in the spring and the day of the luncheon had plenty of sunshine to help show it off. We had the pleasure of meeting 5 guests who were brought by members to enjoy lunch with the group. Most of the guests joined the Club before they left for home. Thanks to those who invite neighbors and friends to join us as we love to welcome new friends to our fun group. The featured program of the day was a presentation by member and Master Gardener, Rosenelle Florencechild about gardening in the Rogue Valley. She discussed many important aspects of successful flower, vegetable and lawn gardening and how to avoid some common pitfalls. It is hard not to have some of Rosenelle’s enthusiasm rub off on you and send you off in search of some plants for your own garden. Thank you, Rosenelle, for sharing all of your wisdom with us. The newly formed Luncheon Table Decorating Committee made their first appearance this month with some darling spring themed decorated bags, flowers and a darling individual bag of jelly beans for each person attending. The centerpieces were all sent home with lucky members and guests through a random drawing. Thank you Mary Harper, committee chair, and all of your helpers for the beautiful work. A buffet lunch and dessert and a short business meeting rounded out the event. Thanks to all who attended. See you in June.
