Dear Members of the EPWC,
I am incredibly proud to be part of the EPWC. When the call came to assist one of our own (family of EPWC member Joni Parsons), our community responded immediately with a thunderous "How can we help?"
I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the dozen Caring Connection members who assisted with the setup on Friday night. As the saying goes, "Many hands make light work," and your help truly made a difference.
Special thanks to Kami for coordinating the ice chests, and to Aleli and the club’s RV'ers. Together, we prepared approximately 40 ice chests with ice and water and set out the purple tablecloths. Thank you also to the members who provided baskets; I currently have them safely stored in my car. I also want to thank Cathi Soreng for providing us all with purple scarves in honor of Joni’s favorite color.
On Saturday morning, we joined Kami to inflate balloons and fill the gift baskets with treats. It was a beautiful way to begin the day of service.
Joni was well-known for her kindness in sending cards for every occasion, often including thoughtful gifts. Her family and friends gathered hundreds of these cards, and we were honored to help distribute them at the conclusion of the ceremony. It was moving to hear so many beautiful tributes to the love Joni put into this world.
Thank you to Cathi Soreng, Kami Listen, Liz Crossman, Marlene Ridley, Patty Manzi, Ruth Jenks, Martha Roy, Terry Jordan, and Susan Watson for your dedicated efforts. I also want to thank the many club members who attended the service and reached out to offer their support.
I have said this before, but I have never lived in a community quite like this. The way you look after one another is truly magical and a wonderful way to honor our heavenly Father. You truly walk the walk every day.
Thank you again to the Caring Connection Committee.
With a grateful heart,
Jeanne Wallace
