Maryann Hartmann and Nancy Rose served as planners and leaders for the August EPWC hike outing and 8 members joined them for a fun outing on a beautiful day. After carpooling up to the Summit Sno-Park area, we began the hike through stately forests and multiple, massive lava fields. We covered bewteen 6-8 miles depending upon which group you were in. We had a group reservation for lunch at the lodge at Lake of the Woods and everyone found a satisfying meal that appealed to them. The plates of sweet potato fries seemed to keep appearing from the kitchen and disappearing at the table. A big thanks to Nancy and Maryann for all of their efforts and to Lori Miles for the photos.
