Marlene Ridley, in her new role as Luncheon Coordinator, did a great job of organizing the details of this event and making all 73 members and guests in attendance feel welcome. Once again, we gathered in the Pavilion at Eagle Point Golf Club on a beautiful summer day to enjoy a lively presentation and an enjoyable buffet lunch. Tania Brownie, director of CraterWorks Makers Space, was our guest speaker and she was a powerhosue of good energy and information. The Makers Space serves the Central Point School District during school hours and is then available to the public after school and on weekends. There are lots of options for creating woodcrafts, metal craft and many other items using their equipment and the guidance of their expert volunteer instructors. Thanks to Tania for sharing her time and passion with us and to Becky Newell for arranging for her to speak. 10 guests were in attendance with member hosts and we hope to see some of them join us as new members. The wonderful plates of cookies baked and provided by Board members for dessert generated lots of oohs and ahhs and satisfied all of the sweet tooths in the room. Thanks to Denise Fikes and Becky Newell who coordinated the beautiful flower arrangements that served as table centerpieces. Thanks to Sandi Smith and Denise Fikes who composed the new membership booklets which were distributed at the luncheon and also managed the activity group sign-up sheets for Sharyn. It is a big job to get all of the information proofed and corrected so you have a great reference book. The next luncheon will be October 21, 2026 and will be the Member’s Market and will be held in the Pavilion. Come enjoy the great shopping opportunity.
