It was one of those “lucky to be alive” kind of days in Southern Oregon when 7 EPWC hikers traveled to Prospect, Or to follow trails into some beautiful waterfalls. Tammy McGrew and Lori Miles led us down a tree-lined trail following Mill Creek to Pearsony Falls which is a beautiful cascade of water over moss-covered rocks and downed trees. It was a great spot for some photos and a chance to get immersed in the wonderful forest. Further down the trail we arrived at a viewpoint where the Rogue River is coursing down a steep hill covered with massive boulders. We returned to our cars and made the short drive back to another trailhead to begin the next part of the journey. This trail continued through the forest to a viewpoint of Mill Creek Falls, then down another trail to Barr Creek Falls and finally to the Avenue of the Boulders. There were lots of photo opps and amazement at the beauty of the area. We returned to the trailhead to enjoy lunch and great conversation together at two picnic tables nestled in the shade. Thanks to Tammy and Lori for leading and to Lori for the great pictures. See you next month for aother great fall hike.
