Six of us bid farewell to summer as we hiked a 5-mile loop trail at Cold Springs Trailhead in the Sky Lakes Wilderness on Friday, Sept. 20. The trail traversed through a forest of lodgepole pine and mountain hemlock. We enjoyed camaraderie, beautiful blue skies, and a picnic lunch at Heavenly Twin Lakes.
